Midtown Community Court

Zago worked with Center for Court Innovation, designing a wayfinding and identity system for Midtown Community Court. The project followed a similar structure to a collaboration on the Red Hook Court in Brooklyn. The design at Midtown focused on the tenets of procedural justice, helping visitors understand the process while feeling respected and heard.

Procedural justice is a proven approach to criminal justice that increases public safety and reduces incarceration. It is based on the idea that criminal justice is most effective when the system demonstrates fairness and legitimacy to the public.
